Abstract

This article introduces several papers dealing with the exploration of the use of neural networks in operations research/management science (OR/MS). The majority of the papers explore the use of neural networks in solving the traditional OR/MS problems. Some papers demonstrate the use of neural networks as statistical mapping techniques. Other papers focus on the OR community's contribution to improving neural networks' performances. Aside from exploring all three views of neural networks, the papers also employ a wide variety of paradigms.
