Abstract

This paper addresses two major themes, trying to combine them into a common message. One concerns the roles being played by things like goals, intentions, and actions within the framework for understanding the human self as it has been advanced by Thomas Metzinger over the decade. The other concerns mirror systems in premotor and parietal cortex as well as their possible im- plications for the understanding of intentionality and socially shared action, as has been propa- gated by Vittorio Gallese over the past years.
