PENGARUH LITURGI GEREJA KATOLIK ROMA PADA INTERIOR GEREJA KELAHIRAN SANTA PERAWAN MARIA

Abstract

A Catholic church is a place of worship that uses roman liturgy, which has certain worship stipulatian which can have influences on the interior arrangement. This research takes the Gereja Kelahiran Santa Perawan Maria Church as its study case. The research method used is the descriptive method. The aim of this research is to observe how the liturgy is applied through the use of visual elements in the interior of this oldest catholic church in Surabaya. Despite some unappropriate dimensions, applications of the principles in the liturgy could be observed through the provision of many worship facilities as well as the use of symbols, colours and room atmosphere that supports the liturgy.Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia:Gereja Katolik sebagai tempat ibadah yang menggunakan liturgi Roma, memiliki ketentuan ibadah yang mempengaruhi tatanan interiornya. Studi kasus dalam penelitian ini mengambil obyek Gereja Kelahiran Santa Perawan Maria. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan liturgi melalui perwujudan unsur-unsur visual dalam interior gereja Katolik tertua di Surabaya tersebut. Walaupun ada yang tidak sesuai dengan dimensi yang seharusnya, namun Gereja Kelahiran Santa Perawan Maria menerapkan prinsip liturgi melalui penyediaan berbagai fasilitas ibadah. Selain itu, adanya penggunaan tanda dan warna liturgi serta perwujudan suasana ruang dalam menunjang liturgi telah diterapkan dalam interior gereja ini.Kata kunci: Liturgi, interior, gereja katolik
