Abstract

Two groups of preferred orientations of face centered cubic (fcc) Nd-rich boundary phase in connection with tetragonal Nd2Fe14B phase contacted directly has been observed in optimally heat treated Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets. The high intrinsic coercivity of the Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets may probably be attributed to the construction of such an ordered structure at the interface between three phases.
