Cultural aspects, in particular, influence the way the leaders behave, decision-making processes, and voting behavior. Changes in the economic situation in recent decades have affected the social and political attitudes of the young generation. Moreover, the role played by the news media is an important factor that can also explain some of the roots of political behavior in Japan.
