Abstract

This article briefly introduces how robots and RT systems could be utilized in human environments for assisting daily life activities of the elderly. Existing systems developed for enhancing the quality of life will be reviewed first Then, how the service-oriented system integration will play an important role will be discussed for bringing robots and/or RT systems into human environments for real applications improving the quality of life. © 2005 IEEE.
