The Sport and Recreation Industry.

Abstract

The author discusses conditions within the sport and recreation part of Australia's parks and leisure industry. He describes the government's commitment to the development of the National Sport and Active Recreation Framework and a National Preventative Health Strategy. Challenges in the industry identified by Service Skills Australia (SSA) include the cultural propensity to fear change and the need for further skill development in the sport and recreation industry's leadership.
