Abstract

Medical image watermarking is broadly recognized as a significant technique for enhancing data security, accuracy, authentication, image fidelity and content verification in the recent e-healthcare environment where medical images are stored, retrieved and broadcast over the networks. Medical image watermarking conserves image quality that is necessary for medical diagnosis and treatment. In this paper we highlight the essential needs of medical image watermarking with a review of developments and the significance of watermarking in medical information management.
