Abstract

The effect of time-limited constraints on general assistance (GA) clients is explored. State restrictions on GA is due to an effort to minimize local spending through scrimping on public welfare, and GA restrictions now occur by imposing time-limited eligibility. The whole scheme jeopardizes the needs of GA recipients, and there is a growing trend of people needing GA. With the reduction of financial assistance, other forms of assistance must be given.
