Abstract

it has long been obvious to researchers that there are individual and developmental differences in people's ability to express and regulate affect / what has been missing is a quantifiable construct that would relate physiological and expressive dimensions of affect / introduce vagal tone as a physiological measure that may serve as an organizing construct for individual and developmental differences in expressivity and the self-regulation of affect
