Abstract

For the use of the following descriptions I shall note, that I measure the length of the costa in the same way as does Schmitz in "Die Phoriden von Holländisch Limburg" viz from the long bristle or hair on the base of the costa. Wood has never said in what way he measured, but it seems, to judge from his descriptions, that he measured similarly, perhaps in a general way from the base of the wing. The costal divisions on the other hand are measured from the humeral cross-vein.
