Abstract

Chimeric antigen receptors redirect T cells to surface antigens. Discovery and validation of appropriate target antigens expand the possible indications for chimeric-antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells. B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) is expressed only on mature B cells and plasma cells and promotes their survival. BCMA is a promising target for CAR-T cells in multiple myeloma. ©2013 AACR.
