Abstract

The adsorption equilibria for eight of the lower hydrocarbons frommethane to C4's were measured for silica gel and several activatedadsorption carbons. Most of the data were obtained at 25\,^{\circ}C.and at pressures up to 1 atmosphere. In addition, in several casesthe effect of temperature was investigated up to approximately 250\,^{\circ}C.and pressures up to 20 atmospheres were studied. The adsorption isothermswere correlated by a modification of the Polanyi adsorption potentialtheory.
