Abstract

This paper looks at the problem that Japanese people seem to have in speaking English. First, there is an examination of the various methods that have been utilized in teaching English from Grammar Translation to Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), with special emphasis on CLT and then there is a method of teaching offered as a possible answer to the problem.
