Abstract

The article focuses on the increase in global acceptance of the Bitcoin as a form of money or currency. On August 6, 2013, U.S. District Court Judge Amos Maazant became the first U.S. government official to declare Bitcoin to be money. The Ministry of Finance of Germany has also recognized Bitcoin as private money. Topics discussed include how Bitcoin software works, decentralization of Bitcoin, and need for its regulation.
