Abstract

The article discusses the access to broadband networks in the U.S. in 2013. Policymakers are addressing the need to ensure unfettered access to the Internet. The debate on telecommunication reform considers restrictions on the owners of broadband networks. Net neutrality emerged as a major focal point in the debate over broadband regulation. The implementation of the Open Internet Order by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is also noted.
