Abstract

This paper presents the results of a preliminary examination of the state of education programs in asset management in universities in North America, Europe and Australia. In particular, we compare and contrast various programs at graduate levels that are focussed on areas related to asset management against the 39 subjects listed by the IAM Anatomy and the IAM Competences Framework and present recommendations for greater alignment between academic programs and industrial need. It was found that none of the programs have a complete coverage of the subjects, but have a reasonable coverage of all the subject groups.
