Abstract

There are three equally important pillars of successful metalworking fluids (MWFs) application: (1) selection of the proper MWF, (2) delivery of this MWF to the point of application, and (3) MWF maintenance. The proper physical delivery of MWFs to the machining zone - the subject of this chapter - is one of the most important aspects of successful MWF application. The chapter classifies MWF delivery methods with detailed examples. Particular attention is paid to cryogenic MWF delivery systems and to activation of MWFs.
