Abstract

This paper discusses the usage of mobile phones and particularly the SMS about 29 pregnant women in high social risk and their obstetrician, between 2009 - 2011 in Uruguay. The mobile phone is used by this social sector as a media contact and helps to reduce isolation and promotes medical consultation. Any project that intends to act on birth control barriers must contemplate the psychosocial matters and basically try the devaluation and isolation of women. To do this, the individual care, as well as the support for formal and informal social networks existence, seems to be key variables. Now joins the reasonable and sensible use via mobile phone. You can achieve excellent results with a change of attitude, and vocation for service by the health team.
