Formulas for calculating magnetic and gravity anomalies of (a) polygonal section prisms of finite length, and (b) general irregular polyhedra, are presented. The formulas are exact for bodies of uniform magnetization or density. Suggested applications are: modelling structures of variable cross-section, representation of arbitrarily irregular bodies, and calculation of terrain corrections. © 1976.
