Abstract

Economic driven software architecture is another aspect of software systems sustainability that is increasingly attracting significant research and commercial interest. Evolution in software requirement and the increased effort and time spent at the maintenance activities of the software system are the major derive for the increased cost of the software system, system structure erosion, and late delivery of the software system. Therefore, sustaining a sufficient level of quality to a software system and its features in a cost effective way is the overwhelming goal for the software engineers. However, yet, there are no ultimate approach, method, or technique to achieve the afore-stated goal. This research paper elaborates on the software architecture patterns' and tactics' impact on the achievement of the overall quality of a software system. Nevertheless, this paper provides a framework to systematically select and calibrate architectural patterns and tactics to consolidate the achievement of quality attributes to a software system in an economic-driven approach.
