This article focuses on the human resource (HR) strategies adopted by Great Britain-based law firm Addleshaw Goddard to keep its staff motivated. The firm included competitive remuneration systems, defined career paths, alternative tracks to partnership and flexible working arrangements in its HR strategy. The firm's 38 employees are led by HR director Judith Hardy. This year the firm was ranked 94th in the best places to work survey conducted by the newspaper "Sunday Times." According to Hardy, the result was mainly due to the firm's performance in remuneration and the learning and development opportunities for the staff.
