Abstract

In this article, the author focuses on Kolb's learning cycle in outdoor education. The learning cycle is an experiential process designed to promote learning in out education participants. He notes that the British National Occupational Standards promotes the cycle, while others are critical of the learning cycle on many levels. A comparison with the Surface Learning process is offered.
