Abstract

Most say they would do it again and that it made them a better person in the end. Most also agree that it changed their lives. Whistle-blowing has its place in society and is likely to stay. Companies are recognizing that it is necessary to have internal checks and some are choosing to appoint people within the organization to keep an eye on things. Is there really a need for whistle-blowing or is ignorance bliss? John W. Houck, professor of business ethics and public policy in the Notre Dame Business Business school, said there is. (excerpt)
