Abstract

The article discusses the use of refractive surgery for the treatment of ocular disorder also known as ametropia. Topics discussed include complaints of dry eye after surgery; medications and frequency of using artificial tears; patient identification through tear hyperosmolarity, levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) and level of lipids secreting meibomian glands; and postoperative evaluation and preoperative treatment of dry eye.
