Sununary Lye, K. A. 2003. Schoenoplectiella Lye, gen. nov. (Cyperaceae).-Lidia 6 (1): 20-29. A new genus, Schoenoplectiella Lye, is here described for those-species of Schoenoplectus which are more closely related to the genus Eleocharis than to Schoenoplectus. They differ from the true Schoenoplectus species in usually being annual and producing solitary female flowers in their basal leaf-sheaths. The new genus consists of about 25 species.
