Abstract

A forestry service the Yemen dates from 1965. Since 1968, the forestry section of the Agricultural Research Station has instigated a programme of introduction, propagation and planting of exotics (mainly under irrigation) as wind barriers, roadside plantations, sand dune stabilizers forestry species and ornamentals. Details are given of Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Albizia lebbek, Azadirachta indica, Conocarpus lancifolius, Casuarina equisetifolia, Prosopis cinerea and Acacia mellifera. - P. J. Jarvis
