Abstract

The author uses McGuirean qualitative methods to explore longitudinal changes in the structure of stereotypes in European society, revealing that stereotypical categories fit mosaic-like into a comprehensive view of society. Three basic assumptions regarding stereotypes are presented, as well as three selected research topics, and three concluding remarks. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2009 APA, all rights reserved).
