Abstract

Strengthening of concrete is now much desired with the advancement of technology and with the application of cement for many purposes. Compressive strength of concrete has been remarkably developed by using water reducing reagents and super plasticizer, by resin impregnation, by fiber reinforcement and so on. On the other hand, since Birchall et al1) reported that they succeeded to prepare hardened cement paste with such high bending strength as 50 MPa by reducing water/cement ratio remarkably and reducing macro-deffect which causes stress-concentration and fracture-starting point. This has become a subject of discussion for the bending strength of hardened body. In this paper, the mechanical proper- ties of cement paste with high bending strength will be reported.
