Abstract
To maintain continuity of care, the Joint Commission has mandated US hospitals to standardize information handoffs between “oncoming” and “outgoing” teams to support accurate and complete information transfer. We present our analysis of information seeking behavior during handoff communication to inform design of effective handoff strategies.
