Conclusion: Parallel Play, Not Collaboration: Missing Questions, Missing Connections

Abstract

In this special issue, a group of wonderful scholars has shared with us what is known about collabora- grateful for their efforts to identify and analyze what we know on behalf of our collective field. We are also cess, collaborative public participation tive public management, collaboration as a pro- networks and democracy, and and civic engagement. We are grateful to the many scholars who submitted abstracts for excellent papers that we could not include because of the space limitations of any single journal issue. This is an exciting, vibrant, and growing body of knowledge that has deep significance for the future of public administration.
