Abstract

The availability of powerful tools to analyze the increasing amounts of personal data has raised many privacy concerns. In this article, we provide an overview of data mining, aimed at a non-technical audience primarily interested in the social and legal aspects of data mining applications. © 2006 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
