Abstract
Business users want to benefit from the advanced functionality offered by Grid middleware as well as from low cost computing resources offered by Cloud providers. Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are central to the establishment of electronic contracts between two entities. These requirements raise semantic interoperability issues caused by the lack of well-defined vocabularies. We propose a solution via the use of a lightweight annotation mechanism called SASLA and a set of modular ontologies. In this paper, we will discuss how a semantically enabled Grid infrastructure can use SASLA to dynamically provision resources either from the locally available resources or from resources offered by Cloud Providers.
