Moving Targets: Web Preservation and Reference Management

Abstract

The article discusses the importance of preserving resources available on the web for future academic authors. According to the author, accessible Web archives should address the needs of academic authors and reference management tools should work as effectively with Web archives as they do with established sources of literature. The Joint Information Systems Committee Preservation of Web Resources (JISC-PoWR) Project aims to encourage implementation of Web applications supporting persistence, versioning and sustainability.
