Abstract

A bilateral filter-based method for denoising normals for point models has been developed based on a feature-preserving geometry filter. The filter does not modify sample positions, which is beneficial in an iterative smoothing process. By not modifying sample positions, much information about the original features is preserved, giving normals that better reflect these features.
