Recent developments in the study of ocean turbulence

Abstract

This review describes the changes in the understanding of turbulence and mixing in the upper layers of the ocean, the abyssal ocean, and in continental shelf seas that have come in the past 25 years, largely through advances in instruments and methodology. © 2004 by Annual Reviews.
