Abstract

Tables of maximum-cycle Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR) taps currently exist in the literature up to n = 168 [2]. In this report, we describe a method for generating maximum-cycle Linear Feedback Shift Register designs. It is used to generate n-stage designs, with minimum number of taps, for all n ≤ 786 as well as n = 1024 and n = 2048. These designs are included in this report. This method is computationally efficient, and in addition, can be extended to search for other, non-LFSR, cyclic sequence generators.
