Abstract
Virtual teams bring together valued talent within and across organizational boundaries utilizing information and communication technologies as opposed to face-to-face communication. Virtual teams enable organizations to meld talent from within and without the organization in a flexible and cost-effective manner. Developing successful virtual teams requires that attention be paid not only to the many factors that make for successful collocated teams but also to some factors that are unique to the virtual environment.
