Discipline summary

Social science is the collection of academic disciplines which study any aspect of social behavior and the functioning of society. This fluid term is generally used to describe any field of scholarship outside of the hard sciences. The narrowest definition is simply the study of human interaction and organization. Some scholars would include business administration, economics, law and psychology as part of social sciences, while others view these areas of study as independent disciplines.
