Abstract

In this paper a hand gesture recognition method using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is presented, to evaluate this approach the three-axis accelerometer found in the Wiimote controller was used to generate a dataset of hand gestures of certain geometric shapes and letters. The gesture recognition process and its evaluation are discussed. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
