Abstract

This chapter summarizes the main concept of atom transfer radical polymerization, referring to the recent advances within that topic. In particular, the used monomers, initiators, and catalysts are discussed, together with the initiation mechanisms. Aspects of macromolecular architecture, composition, and functionality are also summarized. Furthermore, examples of advanced materials are given, followed by their biomedical applications.
