Abstract
This paper presents the historical development of the analytic-synthetic distinction from quine to hintikka and also to point out some important issues which are suppressed in the process. though the author agrees with quine about the distinction of 'analytic', he still thinks that there are reasons to believe the distinction and in this regard hintikka's discussion gave a new turn to the problem.
