Application of program design language tools to abbott's method of program design by informal natural language descriptions

Abstract

Abbott's method for programming with the help of natural language is identified as a method that can be aided by the use of a suitable program design language and its processor and tools. Then, ADA/SDP is identified as a program design language with many of the right features and some of the necessary tools; however, more are needed, and proposals for these are given. Finally, Abbott's example is carried out using this proposed extended ADA/SDP, and it is shown how its proposed processor and tools help answer the method's questions and find errors. © 1987.
