Abstract

The radial distribution function (RDF) behaviour at large R in a quasi‐crystalline model of liquids (crystal lattice with lattice sites smeared out by the Gaussian distribution) is studied by numerical calculations. RDF asymptotic oscillations are found to be describable by the Fisher formula obtained from general statistical laws, if the model is based on b.c.c. and f .c.c. lattices, and not to be describable by this formula for hexagonal close packing. It is also established that the parameters of experimental RDF asymptote for liquid argon differ from those for the three above‐mentioned lattices. Copyright © 1977 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA
