Abstract

A com. Chinese A. lancea (Atractylis ovata) oil was sepd. into 9 classes of compds. The major component class was alcs., tertiary alcs. being 42% of the oil and primary and secondary alcs. being 4%. Sesquiterpenes (and lactones) and monoterpenes were 28 and 12.5%, resp. The major components, β-eudesmol [473-15-4] and hinesol [23811-08-7] were present in a ratio of 2.6:1. The new compds. identified were: monoterpenes 12, sesquiterpenes 5, terpenoids 11, phenols 4, and others 3. [on SciFinder(R)]
