Abstract

We study the usefulness and implications of relay nodes in BAN sleeping channels to maintain the connectivity between the hub and on-body sensor nodes. We show that, using our experimental results, choice of relay depends on the quality of the base-relay link and the relay-sensor link. Our results suggests that BAN may need to apply at least 5 relay nodes to maintain a good connectivity between the hub and on- body sensor nodes and we also suggests the locations for placing relay nodes on a bed.
