Abstract

This paper describes a software tool called MUKCA (Multi-User Knowledge Capture Administrator). This tool incorporates case-based reasoning for supporting the reuse of past SQL queries. The tool has been targeted at users in the marketing domain. This domain is characterised by very large databases containing many Gigabytes of customer related information. Large systems such as these require careful management of the queries being submitted to optimise the use of processing and storage resources. The CBR approach encourages consistent and best practices, supports training of novice users and dampens the effect of employee turnover. An early prototype has been built and is currently being used for experimental purposes.
