Abstract
The author presents a study of the architectural heritage of family apartment buildings as well as spatial-volumetric solutions prevailing in Centro Habana. Special emphasis is made on important features of the Modern Movement and its role in the development and evolution of the apartment buildings in this urban area. A study was carried out on spatial-volumetric typology and its indoor-outdoor relationship, the architectural style of facades, relationship with surroundings, ground area and other design variables. This article summarizes researches done by students of the Faculty of Architecture, ISPJAE 2005 housing research group and its author on his master thesis. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
