Abstract
Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents of Pistia stratiotes, a kind of duckweed. Method: Compounds were separated by chromatography on sillica gel, and their structures were identified by spectral analysis and chemical evidence. Result: Four compounds were obtained and identified as stigmasta-4, 22-dien-3-one, stigmasterol, stigmasteryl stearate and palmitic acid. Conclusion: All the four compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.
