Abstract

Geodetic measurements today are focused mostly on vertical displacement monitoring. To assess bridge behaviour accurately, bridge load testing must involve simultaneous multi-point observation. This paper introduces a computer-controlled multipoint laser system designed for measuring vertical displacements of sensors connected via an RS485 bus. Also introduced is a special Windows-based program. The program controls sensors and dynamically measures vertical displacements. It is developed for bridge load test measurement. Also given are practical measurement results.
